Weather Delay – Jan 12, 2024

We would like to thank everyone for being patient while we catch up due to the snow storm we had on Tuesday, January 9th.

We have been diligently addressing as many missed stops as possible. Please be aware that gravel roads may pose challenges and prevent pickup until they are adequately plowed and treated with salt.

We apologize to any customers that were not picked up this week due to weather related issues. We have instructed our drivers in the areas with missed trash collection, to collect extra trash at your next collection.

Jan 12, 2024 collection information

Due to the upcoming snow storm, the landfill has reported they will be closing at noon Friday, January 12, 2024. Our routes will run for as long as they are able to safely remain on the streets. We have pulled in additional drivers to assist in preventing as many missed pickups as we are able.

Please be aware that rural gravel roads, and alley collections will be at driver discretion and your trash may not be collected until your next scheduled pickup. We understand holding onto your trash for an extra week is not pleasant, but our goal is safety of our employees and other road travelers.

Garbage trucks are much larger than a normal personal vehicle, and rural gravel roads can be treacherous when unsalted. We encourage all residents in rural areas to check into having their road *heavily* salted, to clear their roads of packed snow, and ice.

Our Industrial and Commercial routes will have delays until all routes are caught up. There may be extra day delays when waiting for service while the weather sorts itself out. We apologize and hope to have routes caught up as quickly as possible.

Weather Delay – Jan 9 2024

We were closed Tuesday, January 9, due to weather.

Customers on gravel roads and alleys may experience service interruptions until next week.

For safety reasons, we will not be traversing gravel roads and alleyways, to allow plows sufficient time to clear pathways.

If your trash collection was missed Tuesday, we appreciate your understanding as we work to provide pickups for all of our customers, as quickly as we are able. We apologize that there will be some locations that cannot be collected until the roads are clear.

Please be advised, that clear roads for a personal vehicle, is not the same thing as a clear road for a commercial vehicle.

For commercial businesses, please make sure your enclosures are plowed/shoveled out, your locks are unfrozen, including the latches that slide into the concrete, and in front of the dumpsters are salted.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Forecasted Delay

As we anticipate high winds and snow from Monday afternoon through Tuesday, we want to keep you informed about potential delays in our collection services.

It is crucial to understand that heavy commercial vehicles, like our garbage trucks, are more vulnerable in adverse weather conditions when compared to personal vehicles, especially when facing combined challenges of high winds and snow. Our trucks navigate many gravel roads and highways, which can become extremely dangerous in poor visibility or when not plowed. For the safety of our employees, and the well-being of everyone on the roadway, we may decide to keep our trucks off the roadway, when normal travel appears feasible.

In addition, due to the high winds, the landfill may close early, or not open at all, impacting our collection capabilities.

In the event that we are closed, we will resume normal pickup schedules on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these challenging weather conditions.
